Privacy Policy

This document explains the privacy practices of the “Wörterbuch — Kolay Almanca” mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you accept this Privacy Policy.

1. Data Controller

The App is provided by an individual:

2. Short Summary

  • You do not need to create an account to use the App; we do not collect your name, email, or similar registration information.
  • Your dictionary, cards, favorites, and progress data are stored locally on your device.
  • When you use the AI chat and scenario features, the messages you write are sent to third-party services (Cloudflare and DeepSeek) to generate responses. This involves an international data transfer, and your explicit consent is obtained on first use.
  • Google AdMob is used for ads, and Google Play together with RevenueCat is used for subscriptions.

3. Data We Process

3.1. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is kept only on your device and is not sent to us or to third parties:

  • Your favorite words, card deck, and review progress (SRS)
  • Your practice/quiz results and study streak
  • Your app preferences (language selection, etc.)

You can delete this data by removing the App from your device.

3.2. AI Chat and Scenario Data

When you use the chat or scenario feature, the message text you write and the last few messages of conversation context are processed through the following flow to generate a response:

  • First, it is sent to a Cloudflare server component (proxy). To prevent abuse (rate limiting), this component temporarily processes your IP address.
  • It is then forwarded to the DeepSeek AI service to generate a response.

This transfer is based on the explicit consent you provide in the App before using the AI features for the first time (KVKK Art. 5/1). If you do not provide consent, the chat and scenario features cannot be used; the dictionary, cards, and practice features continue to work normally. You can withdraw your consent at any time by ceasing to use these features.

These messages are texts you write for language-learning purposes; please avoid entering sensitive personal information (identity, health, financial data, etc.) in these fields.

3.3. Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

In the free version, Google AdMob is used to display ads. AdMob may process an advertising ID and certain device/usage information. Ad personalization and consent are managed through the consent screen shown in applicable regions.

3.4. Subscription and Payment Data (Google Play and RevenueCat)

When you purchase a Premium subscription:

  • Payment is collected by Google Play. We do not see, process, or store your card details.
  • RevenueCat is used to manage your subscription status. RevenueCat processes the purchase/subscription information provided by Google Play to determine whether the subscription is active.
  • To recognize your subscription across devices and to provide the “restore purchases” function, RevenueCat creates and processes an anonymous unique identifier (Anonymous App User ID) specific to your device. This identifier is not matched with your name, email, or other personal information.

4. Purposes of Processing

  • To provide dictionary, card, practice, and progress features
  • To generate AI chat and scenario responses
  • To prevent abuse and excessive use (rate limiting)
  • To show ads in the free version
  • To activate and manage the Premium subscription
  • To comply with legal obligations

5. Third Parties and International Transfers

The App uses the following third-party services. Because some of them are located outside Türkiye, related data may be transferred internationally:

Each service processes data under its own privacy policy. We transfer only the data necessary to perform the relevant function.

The transfer of your AI chat/scenario messages to servers abroad such as DeepSeek and Cloudflare is based on the explicit consent obtained on your first use of that feature (see Section 3.2). Transfers to AdMob, Google Play, and RevenueCat are carried out for the purposes of showing ads and providing the subscription.

6. Data Retention

  • Device data: Remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App.
  • Chat/scenario data: Processed by the relevant third-party services (Cloudflare, DeepSeek) under their own policies; we do not permanently store these messages on our own behalf.
  • Subscription data: Retained by Google Play and RevenueCat while the subscription is active.

7. Your Rights

Under the KVKK (Turkish Law No. 6698) and — to the extent applicable to you — the GDPR, you have rights such as accessing your data, requesting its correction or deletion, and objecting to its processing.

Since the App has no accounts, you can delete the data on your device yourself by removing the App. For other requests, please email mdburakkilic@gmail.com.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe data belonging to a child has been processed, please contact us.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will publish the updated version on this page; the “Last updated” date reflects the change.
